The first week of February just after the fires abated I was in Los Angeles doing my annual aerial photography working toward a future book, and I was able to fly over the aftermath of the Altadena, Palisades, and Malibu fires. The photographs are difficult to look at and show the tragedy of what is happening, likely from climate change. We just received notice that the Altadena photographs received an award from Applied Arts Magazine in Toronto and will be featured in an upcoming publication. Exactly one year before, I flew along Malibu and photographed many of the houses that were burned.
